There are certain types of technology that always goes by way of being discontinued, less favored and/or deemed inefficient.
I miss incandescent light bulbs. I miss my 3-way bulb, the click-click-click sound to set the lighting I want in a room. I miss the life expectations of my incandescent bulbs too.
We've gone from incandescent, to fluorescent and now to LED's. I suppose I wouldn't mind LED's so much if they weren't so freaking expensive and would last. I just replaced all of my bathroom fixture bulbs with LED's not too long ago, and now I have a literal strobe effect gong on with one of the bulbs already....sigh.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong and I'm buying the wrong brand? I realize too, the benefits of LED, with less heat, etc. but I still miss the original incandescent.
I found this article on how incandescent light bulbs will be banned by July of 2023.

I'm starting to feel like Tim Allen from Last Man Standing in the episode Changing Light Bulbs. This was the episode about incandescent light bulb hoarding.
What technology do you miss?
I miss my horse and buggy, oil lamp, outhouse, and of course the abacus. But most of all, I miss my good, old fashioned loom...

I think the horse and buggy would be cool, though I'm glad outhouses have progressed to modern bathrooms .....sorry about the looming that you miss, however, we seem to get to looming at times still...lol
Yes we do LOL
I'm not fixing that formatting in the above post....lol ....it is what it is rather I think I'll just go looming instead
Looming .....looming....
I'm sure if someone is looking at this thread, they might think we are "looming crazy". While I'm here, I'll be guilty of going "off topic" now to check on emoji sizing. I think it's okay
lol we both went off topic a bit
Our "off topic" conversation was pretty funny though!
I knew this day would come, and here it is. The US has now banned incandescent light bulbs. Oh how I will miss them because they worked.
The Biden Administration implemented a ban on incandescent light bulbs on Tuesday in favor of energy-efficient bulbs, following a years long bipartisan effort to phase out the bulbs after earlier regulations and standards were blocked by former President Donald Trump.
