The realism of robots is becoming eerie. China's technology is appearing to be amazing.

That's kind of concerning that China dominates the robotics market and it's presumed the complete effect of full robotics will be experienced in 7 years. They have taken robotics to an amazing level, however, so many people are at risk of losing their jobs.
I like the Yangwang BYD car. That was really cool. I looked up the price tag for fun and it's 1.68 million RMB and translates too 229,510.86 in USD.
I love technology but too much automation and one forgets how to correct errors or repair things. I've always loved cars and motorbikes, used to do a fair bit of mechanics but nowadays one seldom needs to touch a car, and in most cases they are not user repairable, one needs specialist tools.
Agree, too many will be put out of work, it may cause social unrest, as if we don't have some already.
Exactly, humans have to continue to use their minds, solve complex problems or social issues, as well as continue to exercise our brains daily.
I know what you mean about motorbike and car mechanical repairs from decades ago to now. Nice that you enjoyed that those days. In modern day vehicles, there is so much that is controlled by a computer that the repairs are no longer as simple as a tweak with a wrench. Now even replacing tires have a computer thing involved to it.
I hope people are paying attention to all of the AI and robotics developments that are happening so fast. It's time for people to plan on learning new skills so that they remain in the workforce but with new skills in robotics. Unrest, yes, I can see that.
As for AI, that's part of the Longshoreman's Union strike that's coming up here in the states on January 15. If they strike, which I believe they will, it will be catastrophic. The Longshoreman's Union controls the south coast line and complete eastern coasts of the US. They went on strike for 3 days a couple of months ago. Each day on strike sets a few week back to unload containers. Their strike is about automation as the docks want to automate a lot which will put people out of jobs. Needless to say, I've stocked up on food.
Shortages can be stressful, still no idea why loo rolls were sold out during pandemic, how absurd, short here in UK too. Shortages push up prices too, I've heard eggs are around $9 dozen in California due to bird flu, mind you, everything is expensive in CA, most items more expensive than in UK.

Raiding the "loo roll" aisle was totally crazy during the pandemic and most people are in the habit now of stocking up on the tp (toilet paper) when a shortage is expected or like this looming Shoreman's Union strike. The strike will cause food shortages and food to spoil if this strike carries on. I'm hoping the union comes to an agreement before the strike day.
Eggs are totally expensive and food in general in the states is way out of range of affordable. There are so many people that can't make ends meet and homelessness is increasing more and more.
I'm watching the bird flu. There's a bout 60 people that have contracted it in the states and only one person in severe condition so far, if I recall that detail right.
Fingers crossed no restrictions come in to force. Doubt so Nationally but I know CA love a restriction or two.
Yes, California does love restrictions. I think recently Governor Newsom set a state of emergency over Bird flu.
Yes, that is correct, my GF in CA is expecting a mask mandate at some point.
I've been watching the fires in LA. Very devastating and sad. I saw James Woods interview from CNN on what he went through to flee his neighborhood. He was able to help save his neighbor that had dementia, too.
I hope California's virus load stays low enough that mask mandates aren't required.
Good news on the Long Shoreman's strike. The union's have come to an agreement; impending strike averted.
